Bloom Conversations with Sola came into my life at exactly the right time. I attended when I was exhausted and desperately needed a breather. I had grown tired of my routine hospital job and wanted to be in a room that reminded me that my dreams were still possible, regardless of what my circumstances looked like at the time. And did it achieve that? Absolutely. Listening to Mrs. Folake Soetan and Adenike Macaulay, CEO of Wakanow, gave me a glimpse of what my future could look like if I stayed focused, got back on track, and remained committed to my goals. Seeing women who had built remarkable careers made my own aspirations feel possible again. A few months later, I found myself holding on to many of the lessons I learned at Bloom. I received a job offer that I almost turned down. But I remembered something Aunty Sola and Mrs. Folake Soetan emphasized: don't accept a job based on just one thing. Have a clear set of factors that determine whether an opportunity aligns with your long-term goals. That advice became my decision-making framework. I evaluated the offer against those factors, accepted the role, and today I'm working on exactly the kind of projects I've always wanted to work on. Looking back, Bloom didn't just inspire me for a day. It gave me practical wisdom that shaped one of the most important career decisions I've made.
